SUNMIGHT 96220 Sunfoam™ Disc (1000 grit, 6″, -pack) is an ultra-fine foam-backed abrasive disc for the final dry or wet sanding stage of automotive clearcoat preparation before machine polishing. The flexible foam substrate conforms to curved and contoured body panels, distributing sanding pressure evenly across curved surfaces where paper-backed discs would bridge and leave unsanded areas at low points.
1000 grit Sunfoam removes orange peel, light texture, and buffing trails from cured clearcoat while leaving a scratch pattern shallow enough that a single-step machine polish produces a flawless finish. The foam backing minimizes cut-through risk on edges and character lines — a genuine concern with paper-backed ultra-fine discs on complex panel shapes.
