SUNMIGHT 08116 Waterproof Sandpaper Sheets (400 grit, 9" x 11", -pack) are silicon carbide wet/dry sandpaper sheets for wet sanding automotive clearcoat, paint, and primer. Waterproof resin bonding allows continuous wet sanding with water or light lubricant for reduced heat, improved swarf removal, and finer scratch patterns than equivalent dry grit.
Silicon carbide cuts cooler and more cleanly on paint surfaces than aluminum oxide, minimizing heat checking and burn-through risk on sensitive clearcoats. 400 grit is used for final primer sanding and pre-topcoat preparation.
