Product Description
SUNMIGHT 07221 Waterproof Sandpaper Sheets (1200 grit, 5.5″ x 9″, -pack) are silicon carbide wet/dry sandpaper sheets for wet sanding automotive clearcoat, paint, and primer. Waterproof resin bonding allows continuous wet sanding with water or light lubricant for reduced heat, improved swarf removal, and finer scratch patterns than equivalent dry grit.
Silicon carbide cuts cooler and more cleanly on paint surfaces than aluminum oxide, minimizing heat checking and burn-through risk on sensitive clearcoats. 1200 grit is used for cutting through orange peel and moderate texture defects on fresh clearcoat before machine polishing.
