3M 07745 Scotch-Brite™ General Purpose Hand Pad (4.75 in) is a non-woven synthetic abrasive for surface scuffing, intercoat adhesion promotion, and pre-paint surface conditioning in automotive refinishing. Gray Ultra Fine grade is used for final scuffing of sealers and light surface prep immediately before clearcoat application — minimal scratch depth while still promoting adhesion.
Non-woven construction conforms to curved panels and body lines that conventional sandpaper bridges over, ensuring complete, consistent scuff coverage. Unlike sandpaper, Scotch-Brite pads don't load rapidly and continue cutting through contamination and surface oxidation throughout the pad's life. Hand pad format for direct application by hand in all areas including door jambs, pillars, and complex body detail areas.
