3M 07521 Scotch-Brite™ Very Fine Abrasive Roll (8 in) is a non-woven synthetic abrasive for surface scuffing, intercoat adhesion promotion, and pre-paint surface conditioning in automotive refinishing. Gray Ultra Fine grade is used for final scuffing of sealers and light surface prep immediately before clearcoat application — minimal scratch depth while still promoting adhesion.
Non-woven construction conforms to curved panels and body lines that conventional sandpaper bridges over, ensuring complete, consistent scuff coverage. Unlike sandpaper, Scotch-Brite pads don't load rapidly and continue cutting through contamination and surface oxidation throughout the pad's life. Roll format allows cutting to any length for custom-sized pieces — ideal for large-area scuffing and production-line applications.
